Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 21st century. Swift began to develop an interest in music in her early years and soon progressed from performing in kids' shows, before making her first appearance front of an audience. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match at the age of 11 she had already begun creating songs. The next year she started playing the guitar. Swift became inspired to compose her own songs by country music artists genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift's family relocated into Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was 13so she could spend more time pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
